Vienna remains my homtown

Vienna is still my second home. When I am in Vienna, I feel at home. The narrow streets and the sausage stalls make me feel as if I had just passed by. That was more than 40 years ago.

The Ensemble Wiener Collage, led by my old friend from my Vienna days, the violinist and conductor René Staar, will perform a work of mine. “5 Wall Fragments” for 6 players”, composed back in 1993. I remember going to the Berlin Wall and collecting pieces from the concrete wall. People were hammering away at the wall, it was like a big chorus of woodpeckers.
